Robartman is a parody of Astro Boy and Professor Frink is a parody of Dr. Tenma from Astro Boy. Astro Boy and Dr. Tenma are also mentioned in dialogue.
Patty and Selma sing "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies.
When the Bumblebee Monster breaks out of the zoo, other characters that break out include:
- Squirtle, two Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Ponyta from Pokémon.
- Agumon and Togemon from Digimon.
- Manfred Mon, a parody of Manfred Mann.
Robartman plays a Mega Man video game.
The Chocobots are a parody of Transformers.
