Springfield: Year Zero is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Simpsons Comics #195.

Synopsis

"Homer spends a little time in his new neighbor's backyard sweat lodge, and in no time he finds himself hurtling through time -- at least that's what he thinks. Meanwhile, the rest of Springfield is tackling a tornado that's tearing through town.""

While Marge making gingerbreads to Lisa's school project. Marge forces Homer to stay outdoors to the dinner is ready. Homer tries to play with Santa's Little Helper but he is not interested, Homer discovers that the neighbors has visiting and watching them. The Neighbors show their friends their new sweat lodge. Homer mishears this as a "Sweet lodge" and assumes they have their candy there in. The wind starts blowing a bit, so the neighbors and their friends go inside for some hemp tea. Bart tell to Marge that the TV is reporting a weather warning. Worried, Marge asks him to retrieve Homer. Bart says that he'll do it...right after he finishes watching TV.

In search of candy, Homer sneaks into the sweat lodge. But when he enters, the wind slams the door shut it and he cannot get out. Homer gets scared, it's no candy there, it's dark and smells. Homer crying for help but no one hears him. At the same time, a tornado descends upon Springfield. The twister takes hold of the sweat lodge and flings it across town. Homer lands in Springfield Park and can now come out of the sweat lodge. Homer ends up in the middle of a medieval tournament and Homer thinks he gone back to medieval times and the group think he's in their play. Homer runs back to his sweat lodge and hiding there. The Knights discovers the sweat lodge, and throws it in the river for it does not belong in the woods. The sweat lodge staring to travel throw the river and Homer pray to go back to the present. The storm has calmed down and Marge want to go out and looking for Homer but not Bart and Lisa who want to watch TV, but she forces them. Homer is stopped by a fallout tree and he ends up in a role play of the American Civil War, and they think Homer is with them again. Homer pushes away the sweat lodge again and jump into it. Meanwhile has Marge and the kids started looking for Homer.

Homer has now ended up in a logging and he believe that vehicles is dinousaries and he goes back to the sweat lodge again. The woodcutters discovers the sweat lodge and take it to the dump. Meanwhile starting Marge visiting Homer's friends in her search. Homer steps out of the sweat lodge, and when he sees two garbage men and Homer thinks he is in the future. The garbage men starts chasing Homer and an machine crushes the sweat lodge which makes Homer angry because he will not be able to come home now. Cletus drives with his family the past the dumpster and picks up Homer and they tell him that they have seen an wanted poster about him and Homer realizes that they still miss him. Brandine point out that he was only missing since this afternoon. Homer does not understand how he had traveled back to the present. Cletus give Homer a ride home. Marge is happy when she sees Homer again. Lisa asks Homer where he's been, he points out that it is when he has been. Marge tell him at she does not care about when or where he's been, she's just happy that everything is back to normal.
