"Beware My Cheating Bart"
"A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again"

Cultural references

  • The title could be a reference to the song "My Foolish Heart", in particular the line "beware my foolish heart".
  • The title could also be a pun on "Be Still My Beating Heart", which is the title of a song by Sting and a centuries-old catchphrase denoting breathless excitement, particularly in a romantic context.
  • The title screen gag and chalkboard gag are references to Matt Groening's having revealed in an interview that the Simpsons' Springfield was named for Springfield, Oregon.
  • During the montage of scenes with Shauna and Bart going on dates:
    • The song playing is "April Come She Will" by Simon and Garfunkel.
    • In the pool hall, when Bart stares open-mouthed at what is revealed to be Shauna's arm, the view before the camera zooms out is a sight gag on the movie poster from the 1967 film The Graduate, which features music by Simon and Garfunkel.
  • The strange glyphs on the mountain in Stranded say, "Watch Futurama Thursdays at 10" in the Futurama alien alphabet.

Goofs

  • When Homer is saying "Watch whatever you want...", Milhouse is in front of a Transformers of the Caribbean movie poster. Then Homer, Bart and Milhouse keep walking. Afterwards, Homer looks round at them, but Milhouse is still in front of the Transformers of the Caribbean poster. (Not necessarily a goof. It's not that unusual for movie houses to have more than one copy of the same movie poster on display.)
