Curling for Loonies is a Canadian sports program filmed at Paramountie Studios.

History

While fighting over Greta Wolfcastle, Bart and Milhouse interrupted a curling match that was being filmed for the program. The two rolled down some stairs and onto the ice, prompting one of the hosts to comment that both their viewers "must be thrilled".

Behind the Laughter

  • The program's name is a pun on either Dialing for Dollars or Bowling for Dollars. ("Loonie" is a common nickname for Canada's one-dollar coin.)
  • The host's comment about "both" of their viewers being thrilled by the fight is a tongue-in-cheek reference to curling being a generally little-known sport in most of the world, although it is very popular in Canada.
