Radioactive Waste is commonly shown in the series as an ominous green sludge like liquid sealed in a leaking drum with the radioactive symbol on it. Also on many occasions the liquid itself can be heard humming and throbbing as if it were alive. It is seen in the most unsafe dumping enviornments like under the sea and stuffed into trees, see (Marge vs. the Monorail). Radioactive waste is of course a by-product of any nuclear reaction and is disposed of carefully and safley in real life. But the comic and cheap disposal of nuclear waste in The Simpsons by plant owner and proprietor Charles Montgomery Burns is both funny and expected.
