When KBBL announcers Bill and Marty broke the news of the rumor that Michael Jackson was coming to Springfield, they played the "seldom-heard extra-long version" of the song while they went to check it out. [1]
As a prank on the entire congregation of the First Church of Springfield, Bart passed out sheet music of the song disguised as a hymn entitled "In the Garden of Eden", with composer credit given to "I. Ron Butterfly". [2]
