The Strandbeest is a wind-powered kinetic sculpture, created by Theo Jansen.

History[edit]

One was on display at the Pagan Winter Carnival. The wind picked up too much, causing it to start walking faster and faster, as it had been designed for the lighter breezes of Europe. It then trampled Krusty, injuring him.

It was later used to pull a sleigh with Krusty and his daughter, Sophie, in.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

The Strandbeest is a real sculpture made by Jansen, which he has been making since 1990.
