Stand By Me! is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Simpsons Comics #219.
Synopsis
- "After a run-in with the paparazzi, Krusty the Clown hires Homer to stand in for him, or rather, stand next to him -- because Homer makes Krusty look good by comparison. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes a stand-in studio musician for Bleeding Gums Murphy's sister, Flossy Murphy. But Homer and Lisa soon discover that the life of a second-hand, stopgap, stand-in celebrity isn't all it's cracked up to be."
Plot
The Simpson family is on Luigi's where Homer is eating up all the food so they must close. Lisa meeting then Flossy Murphy and the two start to jam togheter. Flossy like Lisa and giving her, her place to at a gig tomorrow. The papparazis taking a picture of Krusty when he knocks down Monsieur Pamplemousse, at the picture is also Homer seeing. After the image is published want Krusty hire Homer for all his events for he looks better in the picture if Homer is also on it.
Homer's first assignment with Krusty is an inauguration of Krusty Burger where Homer embarrass himself by stopping french fries into his pockets. Lisa is at the music recording and gets her dream come true. Homer is with Krusty at a kid's birthday party where he destroys their bouncy castle. After a few days Lisa hears the music she recorded on the radio and it turns out to be used for advertising to things she does not stand for. Homer then follows Krusty on a film set where he replace him in a background role for he is obliged Rainer Wolfcastle a favor. Rainer does not like Homer for he ruin the recording but the producer telling him that viewers love him. Homer starts then participate in other recordings in the background. Lisa telling Flossy she's don't like that they use the music for commercials and she tell her that is why she gave away her place. Homer begins to feel bad about embarrassing himself and Marge decides to end his career.
