Homer, Maggie and Marge are sitting on the couch watching TV. Marge yawns and decides it's bedtime for both herself and Maggie. She picks up Maggie, takes her upstairs and puts her to bed. Maggie, however, is not in the least bit sleepy and is still thinking about the TV program (a cop show) that they were watching. After Marge leaves, Maggie climbs out of her crib, goes downstairs, stands in the doorway to the living room and looks thoughtfully at Homer, who is still glued to the TV.

The "pshtt" sound as Maggie opens the beer attracts Homer's attention. He follows the sound and quickly spies the can of Duff on the closet shelf. In a near-hypnotic state, he goes into the closet to get the beer. Just then, Maggie closes and locks the closet door (using the stool to reach the lock), leaving Homer stuck inside.

Milhouse's Best Day is a story that appears in Bart Simpson's Pal, Milhouse Comics #1.

Before school, Bart is at the Van Houten house. Bart reads Milhouse's diary entry for that day, inwhich he wrote that he hoped that on his birthday, which was that day, he could spend it being cool. Milhouse is in the bathroom when he asks Bart what he is doing here, Bart says "Nothing" and then runs out the door, tellling Milhouse not to be late for school. Milhouse is sad because Bart didn't wish him a happy birthday. As he leaves for school, Milhouse's mom Luann wishes him a happy "let your kid walk himself to school day". At school, Dolph and Nelson are outside clenching their fists, Milhouse saying "Here we go again". Milhouse says that he's ready for his lunch money mugging, and he takes off his glasses. Dolph then tells him that he and Nelson don't want his money and Nelson tells him to scram. Milhouse runs into school, saying that it's a birthday miracle and that he can eat lunch for the first time in years.
