Synopsis

When Homer and Lisa are stumped by a Rubik's Cube, Maggie takes over.

Plot

Homer finds a Rubik's Cube in the kitchen and takes it to work to try to solve it. After struggling with the cube for a while at his workstation, Homer becomes frustrated and asks Lenny and Carl for help, but they decline.

When Homer gets home, he shows Marge the still-unsolved cube and asks her to help. She has no idea how to do it, so they decide to ask the kids. They first see Bart walking around the house with a big grin and crayons stuck in his ears. At this sight, they quickly dismiss the idea of asking Bart as a non-starter and turn to Lisa instead. (Bart, however, is annoyed at being passed over.)

Lisa sits down for her own session with the cube. Like Homer, she gets nowhere and quickly becomes frustrated. She hurls the cube across the living room and it comes to rest next to Maggie, who has been playing with her blocks.

A little later, Marge excitedly shows Homer the solved cube. The two of them immediately start heaping praise on Lisa, and even Bart looks awed at the achievement. Lisa, however, is perturbed at being congratulated for something she knows she didn't do. Meanwhile, across the room, Maggie poses a doll and a stuffed bear on her blocks, rolls her eyes, and smiles behind her pacifier.
