  • This is the second time Homer tries to jump off the only bridge out of town, the first being "Homer's Odyssey", but in that episode he never got near the bridge and he did in this one.
  • The snowman in front of the Springfield Retirement Castle is wearing glasses and using a walker.
  • The sign at the bridge Homer jumps off of says: "Suicide Bridge: In Memory of Governor Chester L. Suicide".
