- Krusty's guests on his show include Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack Obama, all of who are left-handed in real life.
- When Ned is trying to figure out why he got left behind, he says that "it's time for Sherlockin'", a reference to Sherlock Holmes.
- The password for the storage center for the Nuclear Power Plant accidents was changed from Clara Bow to Benedict Cumberbatch.
- When Professor Frink tries to increase the intelligence of his lab monkeys, they change to become similar to the apes from Planet of the Apes.
