- Homer: But it's Gear-Grinder McGoon!!
- Grampa: Don't sass me, boy! According to this list, you've been begging allowance advances out of me since Nixon won the election! It's high time you started working it off by washing and waxing my Edsel!
- Homer: [thinking] Hmm... Looks like my old man finally gave up and went back inside. I sure wish pop could understand why I love making model kits so much! It's like I've got model glue running through my veins!
- Clancy Wiggum: The last time I built me a model kit, I screwed it up... Then I blewed it up!
