- Homer states that golf isn't as exciting as it is in Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore.
- Homer wants golf carts to be replaced with the Batmobile from Batman, General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and KITT from Knight Rider.
- The "more trappy" sand pit and Lenny's costume inside the pit are references to Indiana Jones.
