Budget cuts force [[Groundskeeper Willie]] to cut one player from the boy's basketball team. Even though he is one of the better players, [[Bart]] gets cut. [[Milhouse]] feels sorry for Bart and says that's a shame he's not a girl, since their team needs more players. [[Lisa]] is one of the players in the school's girls 'teams and when she sprain her metacarpal and forced to give up playing for four to six weeks, Bart gets an idea how he can come up with the girls' team. Lisa looking for a replacement but can not find one and Springfield is only one game from the final against [[Shelbyville]]. Bart tells Lisa and [[Principal Skinner]] that he can replace Lisa. Basketball's a Drag is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #78.

Synopsis[edit]

"The Springfield Elementary girl's basketball team is headed for the city championship until it's star player, Lisa Simpson, gets injured. How far will Principal Skinner go to beat the team from Shelbyville?"
