Use: Mountain

Widow's Peak is the second highest mountain in Springfield. Its elevation is 13,613 feet (4,149.24m). Widow's Peak receives large amounts of snow and is therefore prone to avalanches.

History

When Homer and Barney had competing snowplow businesses and Barney stole all of Homer's customers, Homer made a crank call to Barney, sending him to a fake plowing job on Widow's Peak. While Homer plowed all the customers' driveways, Barney made his way up the mountain and was trapped in an avalanche.

When Homer learned from the local news that there had been an avalanche and Barney was trapped, Homer went up the mountain in his own snowplow, clearing the snow as he went, and succeeded in rescuing Barney. Along the way, Homer drove across a small, rickety, dilapidated bridge made of planks and rope, only to discover that there was a large modern bridge in excellent condition right next to it.
