One of the items that John had for sale in his shop was a copy of TV Guide that had been owned by Jackie O. The issue's cover story was about Laverne & Shirley.[1]
When the Simpson family appeared on The 1895 Challenge and audience interest started to fade, Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley was brought in to improve the ratings. He is heard saying "Hello, Laverne" in his sleep.[2]
