The Little Boy with the Big Dream is a Simpsons Super Spectacular comic story first printed in Simpsons Super Spectacular #1.
Synopsis[edit]
- "Radioactive Man travels to the galaxy to rescue Danny from his dream that has made it so he can not wake up."
Plot[edit]
Radioactive Man is at the Zenith Power Plant, repairing one of the cooling towers. After he repairs the tower, he notices that one of the employees isn't celebrating. Radioactive Man questions him, thinking he might have sabotaged the power plant. The man reveals himself to be Windy McKay, who should have noticed that there was a malfunction with the power plant. Windy had been distracted from work because his son, Danny McKay, had been asleep for two days after he and his wife gave Danny a pill to calm him down. Radioactive Man then takes Windy back to Windy's house.
At the house, Radioactive Man inspects Danny, who mentions "Moon-Cow" in his sleep. Radioactive Man then realizes that Danny is in another part of the galaxy, in the uncharted space between a grown-up's world and a child's dream. Radioactive Man flies off into space, leaving Danny's parents confused. Radioactive Man eventually finds Danny on a meteor. When Danny sees Radioactive Man, he runs off, not wanting to wake up yet. Radioactive Man gives chase and catches him. Radioactive Man tells Danny that he can show him things that Danny hasn't dreamed of, as long as he agrees to wake up after.
Radioactive Man shows Danny around Mars, Orion's Belt, and the Heavenly Bodies. The Heavenly Bodies are a group of women, so Danny doesn't want to stay there and tells Radioactive Man that he is ready to wake up now. Danny wakes up and Radioactive Man leaves the house.
A few days later, Zenith Power Plant has another crisis. Radioactive Man arrives and finds that Windy McKay hasn't been to work in a few days. Radioactive Man flies to the McKay house and finds Danny alone, watching TV and eating junk food. Danny tells Radioactive Man that his parents took the same medication that they gave Danny so that they could take a vacation.
