[[Homer]]'s slacking off at work causes a meltdown emergency and the whole town breaks out in panic; [[Moe]] raises the price of his beer, [[Apu]] makes a fortune from people panic buying and [[Selma]], desperate not to die alone, has sex with [[Hans Moleman]]. Homer pulls a {{ap|Homer|word}} and saves the town. However a second meltdown emergency occurs and everyone panics again (with Hans being pulled back into Selma's apartment and [[Reverend Lovejoy]] joining the drunks at [[Moe's]]). Homer once again avoids disaster then steals the Nuclear plants meltdown siren and uses it as a burglar alarm. When [[Snake]] attempts to rob the Simpsons the alarm goes off and everyone panics yet again (with Hans waiting at Selma's door with Champagne), Homer rushes to the power plant but remembers the meltdown alarm is at his home, he deactivates and returns the siren.

The entire [[Springfield]] end up in chaos and [[Ned]] ask [[Marge]] to come to his shelter, but she believes that Homer can handle the problem. Homer wakes up but can not get up from the hammock, he is stuck. Almost all in Springfield evacuate the town. [[Moe]] high the prices because he believes everyone wants one last drink and [[Kent Brockman]] leaves the studio under the broadcast, [[Comic Book Guy]] get 50% discount, [[Principal Skinner]] asks the students to bring their books over their heads for protection. [[Selma]] have sex with the first man she sees, [[Hans Moleman]]. [[Apu]] is happy, he has more customers than ever. Homer tries to figure out which buttons he should press to stop the meltdown and succeed. Mr. Burns comes to ask Homer what happened and he tell him that the alarm started by itself. Homer checks to the control panel to remember what he did, and press a button that causes the alarm goes off again. Springfield ends up in chaos again, Kent has returned to TV, but leaves again after he says that this time it's real. Ned prepares for death, but Marge asks him to calm down, Homer will do it. Moe and Apu are happy, they have many customers again, even Selma is, she had sex for the second time on the same day. The School children is sending home, Skinner go home to his [[Agnes Skinner|mother]], and [[Reverend Lovejoy]] have the ceremony at [[Moe's]]. The next day have Homer a new alarm system on the plant, he sees that the old is discarded so he takes it home and install with the help of Ned. Ned says that there is no siren so the alarm can not working to then. He steals the plant's speakers, which is connected to the alarm. Meanwhile, Homer is on his way home with the speaker ends up the power plant in the risk of meltdown again. Homer has installed the alarm at home now and it's time for trying it. He recognizes the signal and believe that it is the power plant, it's a meltdown so he travell back to the work, even though Marge says it's the alarm is from their home and not from the power plant. Homer stops the meltdown, but the alarm is still sounding so he realizes that he is robbed at home so he goes home to stop the thief. Since it is the same signal as the plant uses believe all  in Springfield it's meltdown and ends up in a panic, Kent wants to go home but are forced to stay in the air, Hans has sex with Selma, Moe and Apu is full of people again. Springfields people realize after awhile that the alarm comes from Homer's home and there is no meltdown and starts chasing him. Homer turns off the alarm and plans to bring back the alarm, while Bart switches on the alarm so it will begin to sound again, which makes Homer mad and destroy the alarm. Kent and Moe comes over and asks Homer doing the same thing in a month or two and can pay him. Homer then tries to fix the alarm.
