Wiggum tries to chase Bart, who escapes using a smoke capsule from his utility belt. [[Kent Brockman]] starts chasing Bartman, who hides in a comic convention. A man working at the convention mistakes Bart for a costume contestant and drags him to a stage in front of judges. The winner of the contest is [[Lisa]] who is dressed as "Bartgirl". Futility Belt is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #2.

Bart gets a utility belt for his Bartman alter ego to help him fight off enemies.
