"Of Mice and Menace!" is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #10. The story is hosted by Bart Simpson whom says it will cover why Itchy is always persecuting Scratchy.
Plot[edit]
As young children, Itchy & Scratchy are dropped off at the Happy Hearts Day Care center they meet up. The two children quickly connect, hugging and deciding to be best friends. However the day care teacher hates mice, so treats Itchy with contempt, but gives constant praise to Scratchy.
Itchy tries to get the caretaker's praise by writing with blocks, but the teacher refuses to praise him. Itchy soon becomes angry and starts bullying attacking Scratchy such as pouring paint on him or running over his tail with a tricycle, receiving punishment each time as neither child is enjoying themselves at the daycare.
Itchy's mother comes to pick her angry son up, giving the teacher extra money. Happy about her payment, the teacher says that Itchy was well behaved, leading his mother to declare he will be going to the center every day; Itchy is angered by this and Scratchy screams in horror.
