My Kitty Died is a song that Lisa sings in the semifinals of the Lil' Starmaker competition in the episode A Star Is Torn. In the context of the episode, Homer wrote it, obviously, as a tribute to the late Snowball I. The music was written by Alf Clausen and the lyrics by Carolyn Omine. It is part of the twenty-eighth track on the album The Simpsons: Testify.
Lyrics
- Homer:
- Don't worry, honey. The song I wrote you is so shmaltzy, it'll make "Moon River" sound like a farting orangutan!
- Lisa (sadly):
- My kitty died
- On Christmas Eve.
- Daddy told me to be brave.
- But instead of singing carols,
- I was digging Snowball's grave.
- (everyone sobs)
- Lenny:
- Oh God, I miss Lisa's cat so much.
