Barbara is partner and presumed wife of Sideshow Mel. If they are wed, her full name is Barbara Van Horne.
She is seen with Mel in the episode "Realty Bites", when they were interested in buying a house with a bowling alley (which Marge talks them out of buying). Sideshow Mel says she does not respect his French arts in "I'm With Cupid".
She has the same hair color as Sideshow Mel, but unlike Mel her hair is a normal style. She has not been heard to speak. It is possible that she is Krusty the Clown's sister (as referenced in "Colonel Homer"). [1]
