Anthony Newley (September 24, 1931 – April 14, 1999) was an English actor, singer and songwriter. He played Matthew Mugg in Doctor Dolittle and reprised his role in archive footage of the film in the season 27 episode "'Cue Detective", although he was uncredited.

Newley also wrote the songs "The Candy Man", which was used in the episode "The Fabulous Faker Boy"(as well as parodied in "Trash of the Titans"), "Goldfinger", which was used in the episodes "Homer to the Max" and "Gump Roast".
