Frank 'Grimey' Grimes was an employee at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and the enemy of Homer Simpson. Grimes was a very hard working employee who worked for all of his life. He got annoyed at how relaxed Homer was and how he never did any work or took safety measures.
As a young boy, Frank was abandoned by his parents on the roadside. This forced him to fend for himself, which he did by getting a job as a delivery boy. On his 18th birthday, he was severely injured in a silo explosion.
When Frank became 35, he received a degree in Nuclear Physics. A week later, he was featured in an episode of "Kent's People", which highlighted his lifelong determination; Mr. Burns saw the report and insisted that Frank be hired to work at the Power Plant as Executive Vice President. By the time Grimes arrived, Mr. Burns had wanted to give the position to a Dog he saw on "Kent's People" having forgotten all about Frank and said that he should be "put somewhere out of the way".
Frank eventually goes crazy because of Homer and does crazy things, grabbing hold of electrical cables and getting a massive shock, killing him. He was buried in Springfield Cemetery where he has had numerous different headstones for some reason.
His son, Frank Grimes, Jr., eventually tries to kill Homer for what he did to his father, but ultimately fails.
