Dr. Marvin Monroe's Guide to Etiquette is a book on manners by Springfield psychiatrist Marvin Monroe.
History[edit]
Bart received a copy of the book for his tenth birthday. He didn't like it.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- The book is a reference to author Emily Post (1872–1960), who was famous for being an expert in manners and etiquette.
- Post founded an institute bearing her name which continues to publish books and promote civil behavior in society.
- "Emily Post's Guide to Etiquette" has become a pop-culture term, even though Post never published a book by that title.
