Name?[edit]
Right now, this page has conflicting information. It gives Rich Texan as "name and description." That could use a source, but the infobox calls him "Colonel Tex O'Hara," which isn't mentioned anywhere. If anyone here knows more about this character (was he addressed as either 'Rich Texan" or "Colonel Tex O'Hara" in an episode? Did either name ever appear in on-scren text?), it would help. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 02:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Creation[edit]
I'm removing the Creation section for now. I have a number of Burns and Allen episodes, and there are superficial similarities to Mr. Judson, but also to any number of other caricatured Texans on radio and television sitcoms. A specific source needs be found (audio commentaries, interviews, etc.) stating that the character was specifically inspired by Judson (not impossible, given The Yes Guy, but not proven, and the traits are far more generic than those of Yes Guy). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 02:22, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Minor Character[edit]
I deleted the catergory saying he is a minor character because he seems to talk more in later season like The Burns and the Bees and Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Three Times. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.254.89.216 (talk) 16:46, August 2, 2009
Yosemite Sam[edit]
So is it possible that the Rich Texan is the Simpsons' answer to Yosemite Sam.Bloodquaker 23:43, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Not the Same Guy[edit]
I don't believe Antione "Tex" O'Hara and the rich Texan are the same guy. Tex (in ep #7F05) neither looks like, nor displays the basic characteristics of the rich Texan, ie. He does not fire pistols. He only sounds similar in voice and accent (and just similar, not exact).
The rich Texan's name is Rich Texan. It says it on his name plate in the Republicans' headquarters at his place at the table. Also, his daughter's name is Paris Texan, a play on Paris Hilton and Paris, Tx.

Another Point[edit]
The rich Texan also has a fear of mustaches and beards "agunnaphobia?" as he tells Homer (Ep.#JABF21) his reason for parking in a handicap spot.
Antoine O'Hara has a mustache.
