The School Dance was a event at Springfield Elementary School.
History
Alex Whitney, a fashion conscious new student, easily gained popularity at Springfield Elementary School and convinced Seymour Skinner to replace the School Apple Pick for a School Dance. The dance organisation was perfect but it ultimately turned out to be a complete failure because the boys simply couldn not go near the girls, and vice versa, resulting in them just staring each other down, due to Alex Whitney forgetting that kids don't do this sort of thing.
While the dance was going on, Willie was fighting Homer for trying to steal the School cafeteria's grease reserve by using a pipe. Willie used the pipe to strangle Homer and it ended up getting blocked, sending a lot of grease into the hall. This caused the kids, who were afraid of each other, to play greaseball fights and build grease-men.
