American History X-cellent Promo Image

Hi, I was just wondering whether you are sure that this is the promo image for that episode. It is the only Promo image I could find and am not sure if it is the right one for the episode. Template:Season

OK, should work now. Just a couple of mistakes and I have improved it. I have added in removable parameters so if left blank, they won't show up. Your mistakes were:

1. It is case sensitive. Some parameters in the coding were different to those in the use.
2. You didn't include the <noinclude></noinclude> bit for the Use section. This would display the Use section on each page you put the infobox on.

Wow. Sounds quite easy actually. You've done such a good job on here! I visited the wiki a few years back (when I wasn't registered) and its come such a long way. Its one of the best Simpsons sites around, if not THE BEST, and I love contributing. Oh by the way, thanks for sorting out that Season 9 tab template for me. There is only one Simpsons wiki better than us and that is Spanish. We are the best English wiki. All others have shut down. And, the new skin only came around this year after I asked for it. Then JaffaCakeLover got an improved logo and background image, removing the bird and The Simpsons from it and making the logo look better, in HD quality you could say. ☆The Solar Dragon ^{(Talk - Contribs.)}☆ 10:52, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Firstly, how many colons is that now? :) Also, I said it is non Wikia English wikis that shut down. Mostly because they have to fund their own wikis and don't want to any more. I'm not sure what country you live in but it must be an English one but i live on USA's ease coast which to solar dragon my middle of the day patrol of a wiki is an almost nighttime wiki patrol. i am on almost all day during the summer which is a month from now so feel free to ask me anything. i saw it trying to find a message is sent to solar dragon but saw my name so i checked it out. Grammar Nitpick -- "Which"

Please stop using the following construction in episode summaries: [episode title] is the [ordinal number - 1st, 2nd, etc.] episode of Season [number], which originally aired on [date]. That construction makes it sound like the whole season aired on the particular date. Better is to leave it (or write it) as two sentences: have the first sentence end with the season number, and then begin a new sentence saying what the airdate was. For example, consider the episode Bart Gets an "F":

• Original summary (with "which" error): "Bart Gets an "F"" is the first episode of Season 2, which aired on October 11, 1990.
• Corrected: "Bart Gets an "F"" is the first episode of Season 2. It originally aired on October 11, 1990.

There are a few options for the second sentence: "It first aired on," "It originally aired on," "Its original airdate was," and so on. I personally would avoid using "it first aired" with the first episode of a season to avoid two close occurrences of the word "first," but other than that, go with whatever tickles your fancy.

I'm leaving you this message because I know you've done a least a few -- but definitely not all -- of the "which" goofs. Also, as one of the busiest people on the wiki at this time, you're in a pretty good position to fix them as you find them. That particular grammar goof has been on the site longer than either of us has, and I'm trying to fix it wherever I find it.

The episode intros don't need to be all mashed into one paragraph; in fact, it's better if they're not. Two or three short paragraphs are easier to read than one long one, especially if there's a change of topic. -- Mythigator 18:44, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, yeah - I like that picture too! About the intros - the only reason why I was mashing it into paragraphs was because they were lacking information and looked silly with just one sentance per line. If I can find some more information to add, then I will be happy to do paragraphs. P.S - I used to do paragraphs, but since the information was lacking on more than several episode pages, I decided to try the all-in-one. It's a judgement call, and I can't say as I disagree with you in the cases of episodes where the info is scanty. It just depends on what kind of training you've had. I've had training in newspaper-style writing (among other things), and in the newspaper realm one-sentence grafs are the norm (in USA newspaper writing, anyway). Consequently, for me, paragraphs start looking long when they get to four sentences, and short ones don't bother me hardly at all. Anyway, it should not be that hard for episodes to end up with two sentences at the very beginning (airdate, writers, director, notable guests, etc.) and two more for a plot summary, thus ending up with two grafs of two sentences each. Well, I am still in full time education where we are told that one sentence paragraphs are stupid. That a paragraph is usually about three to six lines long. That is what I have been brought up on learning.
