• The title is also a reference to "The Dark Knight" where The Joker's truck had a red "S" spraypainted on the Truck camo, changing the original saying "Laughter is the best medicine" to "Slaughter is the best medicine"

Trivia

• When this ident is broadcast on Sky2 and Sky3 before The Simpsons, the scene where Scratchy is strapped to a table and a laser cuts a 1 out of it, then Scratchy freeing himself and starting to run off as the glass 1 shatters and slices into him and chopping him up looks different. When it is on Sky2, a 2 is cut out of the table and when it is glass, it shatters and slices Scratchy, chopping him up. The same changes for Sky3.

Continuity

• Scratchy getting sliced up by a laser was last seen in another Itchy and Scratchy cartoon, Spay Anything. ("Cape Feare")
• Homer squeezing Santa's Little Helper to get the remote out of him is similar to the way he squeezed Plopper to get his phone out of him in The Simpsons Movie.

Goofs

• From when Itchy presses the button to activate the laser, Scratchy's gloves disappear. Then when Itchy gets back up from behind the "1", his gloves have appeared again.
