The Simpsons Cinematic Universe was a proposed shared film franchise. The concept was introduced at the 2022 D23 Expo as a planned series of interconnected films referred to as “Phase 5.” The proposed slate included films centered on characters such as Moe Szyslak, Captain McCallister, Groundskeeper Willie, Selma Bouvier and Bart Simpson.

The Simpsons Cinematic Universe was announced during a segment presented at the 2022 D23 Expo. During a question-and-answer session, Homer Simpson was asked when the next Simpsons film would be released. After asking the audience whether they wanted another movie and receiving an enthusiastic response, Homer announced the creation of the Simpsons Cinematic Universe and introduced its “Phase 5.”
The initial lineup consisted of several proposed films, including Iron Moe, Sea Captain America, Groundskeepers of the Galaxy, SelmaVision and Moon Knight. Promotional posters for the projects were presented as part of the announcement.
The announcement was interrupted when Homer was informed that he had received a telephone call from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Homer initially reacted positively to the call and indicated that he wanted to proceed with the proposed projects. He subsequently reversed his decision, and the word “CANCELLED” appeared across the posters for the announced films. Homer then stated that there would be “no new movie.” He followed this by saying “Unless…”, after which a poster for Nedpool.

- Homer announced "Phase 5" of a "Simpsons Cinematic Universe," a parody of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Iron Moe — a parody of Iron Man, centered on Moe Szyslak.
- Sea Captain America — based on Captain America, featuring the Sea Captain.
- SelmaVision — a parody of WandaVision, with Selma Bouvier.
- Groundskeepers of the Galaxy — a parody of Guardians of the Galaxy, featuring Groundskeeper Willie.
- Moon Knight — using the Marvel title, but with Bart Simpson mooning on the promotional poster.
- Nedpool — a parody of Deadpool, featuring Ned Flanders.
