Scratchy's Service Station and Lunch Counter is a service station owned by Scratchy. Itchy is his employee.

Description[edit]

Scratchy's Service Station and Lunch Counter is located in a desert area (the local plant life consists of dry grass, sagebrush and cacti). The station sells Gasso gasoline and Henzoil automotive supplies. A sign on the roof says "Eat Here and Get Gas!"

The station also has a billboard advertisement, located a short distance away. On the billboard, Scratchy says, "Drop In for a Scaulding (sic) Hot Cup of Coffee!" The sign actually has a giant cup of coffee on top, and the coffee is steaming hot.

History[edit]

The station's billboard sign.
Itchy and Scratchy got into an argument when Itchy was reading a magazine, Scratchy told him to get back to work, and Itchy responded defiantly by giving Scratchy a razzberry. The argument escalated into an ultra-violent conflict when an attractive cat customer stopped at the station and both Itchy and Scratchy wanted to help her. In the end, Itchy tied Scratchy to a gas pump, blew up the station and drove off with the cat customer. Scratchy was blown high into the air by the explosion. When he came down, he landed in the giant cup of coffee on top of the billboard advertisement.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

  • The Gasso gasoline and Henzoil products sold by the station are puns on Esso and Pennzoil, respectively.
  • The billboard misspells "scalding" as "scaulding".
