Maggie's Crib is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #63.
Synopsis[edit]
At the beach, Maggie dodges a family photograph—for what turns out to be good reason.
The Simpson family go to the beach for the day. After they get there, Maggie plays in the sand while the other family members set up their beach gear (blanket, umbrella, picnic basket and toys)—except for Bart, who sees an opportunity for mischief and puts sand down the back of Homer's bathing suit while he's busy with the umbrella. After everything is set up, Homer suggests they take a photograph of the five of them at the beach, with the ocean in the background. He mounts the camera on the tripod, then works on setting the camera's timer. Marge, Bart and Lisa gather in front of the camera for the picture, and Homer runs to join them after he finishes setting the timer.
As the timer winds down, Homer gestures for Maggie to join them in front of the camera. However, she refuses, shaking her head and wagging her finger at Homer in spite of Homer's increasingly urgent gesturing. Just as the timer runs out and the camera's shutter clicks, a big wave comes ashore and washes over Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa while Maggie calmly watches.
