Synopsis[edit]
The Simpson family visit the carnival at a fair, and Maggie tests her marksmanship against Homer's.
The Simpson family are walking through the carnival at a fair and they come to a row of game booths. As they walk by a baseball-throwing booth, Lisa notices that one of the prizes is a pink plush unicorn and is immediately taken with it. Homer notices Lisa's interest and decides to win the prize for her. He hands the booth attendant a bill and receives three baseballs in exchange.
Maggie demonstrates her marksmanship.
The object of the booth is to knock down three bowling pins stacked in a triangular shape.
Bart watches as Homer begins throwing baseballs at the pins. Homer's first throw is a clean miss. His second throw is also a clean miss, and he gets angry while Bart starts laughing. When his third throw is yet another clean miss, Homer is enraged while Bart is laughing loudly and uproariously, to the point of tears.
Meanwhile, Marge, Lisa and Maggie have kept on walking and are now at a target-shooting booth that also has a pink plush unicorn (identical to the one at the baseball booth) as one of the prizes. Lisa's necklace comes undone, and Marge sets Maggie down on the counter while she helps Lisa with her necklace. Maggie tosses a coin to the attendant, picks up a rifle, and starts shooting at a round target with small flag-shaped targets sticking out at its perimeter. Maggie hits every one of the flag targets, without a single miss, and the attendant is completely shocked. Maggie points at the pink unicorn and the attendant hands it to her. Maggie then passes the unicorn to Lisa, who is overjoyed to receive it.
Marge, Lisa and Maggie go back to the baseball booth. Homer is still throwing baseballs at the bowling pins and not hitting anything. He is now in a near-berserk rage while the attendant is cowering in terror from Homer. Bart, for his part, is now laughing so hard he has fallen down, and continues laughing as he rolls on the ground.
