- Homer takes the complete Harry Potter series of books and uses them as a table for his beer. Homer then tells Lisa to call him "Homer Simpson and the Goblet of Reachable Beer".
- Lisa gives Milhouse copies of Old Yeller and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which Milhouse then straps to his feet to be taller.
- Lisa gives Bart a copy of The Red Badge of Courage.
- Lisa thinks that Ralph read The Borrowers, when in actual fact, Ralph was just seeing tiny people.
