"It's a Wonderful Knife" is an Itchy & Scratchy Comics story first printed in Itchy & Scratchy Comics Holiday Hi-Jinx Special.
Synopsis[edit]
- Itchy invites Scratchy to his annual Christmas ball. After destroying the invitation, Scratchy decides that he wants to go after all. However, the lack of an invitation bars his entry to the party. Scratchy tries to get into the party another way.
Plot[edit]
Itchy has a nightmare based on A Christmas Carol where Ebenezer Itchy is shown his grave by the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (played by Scratchy). Itchy rips off the ghost's face before he falls into the grave and gets killed by a mousetrap. Waking up from the nightmare, Itchy has a change of heart and decides to invite Scratchy to his Christmas ball. Itchy's butler delivers Scratchy the invitation, which he immediately screws up and sets fire to. When he tries to throw it into his fireplace, it bounces out and sets his Christmas tree on fire.
Scratchy comes up with an idea and decides to dress as Santa and deliver a bomb present to Itchy. He goes to Itchy's mansion, where the guard points to a sign saying the party is invitation only. Since Scratchy doesn't have his invitation anymore, he has to come up with another way to get in. He tries to climb the fence but finds that it's electrified. The force of the shock throws him into a tree as kids in a nearby house watch and laugh at him. Meanwhile, Itchy is waiting for Scratchy to turn up. He calls the gate guard to ask about Scratchy, who realizes that Scratchy was invited after all. He chases after the cat, but Scratchy flees, thinking that the guard wants to hurt him. Scratchy falls into a frozen lake, and the guard pulls him out in a block of ice. Scratchy slides down a hill and bounces over a fence before smashing into the wall of the house the kids are in. Snow then falls onto him.
At the party, Itchy starts carving the turkey while Scratchy tries to climb onto the roof and down the chimney. One of the guests complains about being cold, so Itchy puts the fire on, burning Scratchy to a skeleton. Itchy and the party guests go to have a sleigh ride outside. Scratchy grabs a stick of dynamite and chases after them before he slips on ice and gets trampled by the horses. When Itchy gets to the front gate of his mansion, he asks the guard about Scratchy again, but the guard hasn't seen him. Itchy and the party guests go to a nearby church to sing carols. Scratchy goes to pour hot oil out of the bell tower onto Itchy, but Itchy pulls the rope to ring the bell before he can do so. Scratchy's angel comes out of his body as he falls to the ground, before icicles impale him. Scratchy goes back to Itchy's mansion and sneaks past the guard to leave the bomb present under the Christmas tree. He then returns home before realizing he left the wrong present, and the explosion sends him flying to the North Pole, where Mrs. Claus beats him up. Meanwhile, Itchy adds "torment Scratchy all year for missing Xmas party" to his new year's resolutions.
