I, Carumba: The Nightmare World of El Barto
- "This overdue artquake that taught us all a new way of seeing was actually a police department sting."
- ―Clancy Wiggum[src]
I, Carumba: The Nightmare World of El Barto was an art gallery opened up by Bart Simpson, from March 11 - August 15.
History[edit]
After Shepard Fairey suggested Bart open up a gallery, he did so. Just before, Homer found out that he was the subject of the art and refused to go to the gallery. Bart managed to persuade him to come in though.
During the gallery's opening ceremony, it turned out to be a sting operation to catch Bart out and he was arrested. The undercover cop on the case was Shepard Fairey. Mr. Burns was annoyed to find out it was a sham gallery and tried to return the three million dollars worth of paintings he had bought but was refused by Ron English, stating "no refunds".
Bart was eventually put back in the rabbit cage and he signed autographs from here. He asked Chief Wiggum if he could pee and he put a blanket over the cage to allow him to do this. When he took the blanket off, Bart had escaped from the gallery.
Trivia[edit]
- The leaflet states that the event was to happen between March 11 - August 15. However, Bart only became a graffiti artist after March 19, over a week after the gallery was stated to open for the first time.
