First appearance: "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em"

Good Grief, More Peanuts is a collection of Peanuts comic strips by Charles M. Schulz. Bart used to keep a copy of the book in his school lunchbox.

History[edit]

Marge received a letter from Springfield Elementary School which said that someone at the school had a life-threatening peanut allergy, so peanut products were no longer allowed on school property. When Marge read the letter, she checked the contents of Bart's lunchbox for newly banned items and removed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a bag of trail mix (which included peanuts). She then exclaimed, "Good grief, more peanuts!" as she took out a copy of Good Grief, More Peanuts.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

  • Charles M. Schulz (1922–2000) was the creator of the comic strip Peanuts, which ran from 1950 to 2000. The last original Peanuts comic was (coincidentally) published the day after Schulz died; the strip's reprints still appear in many newspapers.
  • There are two real-life Peanuts comic strip collections titled Good Grief, More Peanuts! (with an exclamation point); one published in the 1950s and the other in the 1990s. However, neither one of them resembles the Peanuts book that Marge finds in Bart's lunchbox.
