Forum:How to be a Wikisimpsons Administrator?

Wikisimpsons - The Simpsons Wiki

Hello! I want know, i need to do to become Wikisimpsons Administrator? Register candidacy like Wikipedia? I want to be a Wikisimpsons Administrator, like Solar Dragon or AleWi. I hope answer. --BTony70099 (talk) 22:22, January 23, 2014 (EST)

Go to "Community" underneath "Search", and go to Wikisimpsons:Requests for Rights > Wikisimpsons:Admin Requests. Read the requirements to become an admin. Once you have read the requirements and if you think you're fit for the part, create the page "Wikisimpsons:Admin Requests/Barthony70099" and state your reasons as to why you'd like to be an admin. However, I would strongly, strongly recommend for you to request to become a rollback user before obtaining an administrator role, although it is not mandatory to do so. Oh, and also it is not always necessary to create a forum to ask a question, you can simply ask an experienced user such as Solar Dragon and AleWi. Thank you. --Fred (Talk Contribs. There are two ways to become an administrator. The first is the request it through the pages linked above. This way will most likely get you two sides of the argument, you might see praise, and you will also see areas to improve to become admin material. The second way is generally harder. If I think you are good admin material, I will promote you like that, no admin request. However, the chances in that are pretty slim.
In your case, I still think you have a way to go before you become an admin. You need to understand the policies inside out, know what is wrong and what is right. Admin experience on other wikis helps too, if you can show us. Communication skills are a must too. I hate giving people janitorial admin rights, the only thing they do is to delete vandalism and spam. A good admin, in my eyes, is one who can make the community a better place, explain what a user is doing wrong rather than ban them etc.
As Frederick said, you should apply for rollback first. We kind of have a hierarchy on Wikisimpsons and I don't like to promote non-rollback users to admin unless there is extreme circumstances. Plus, I already have the next admin of Wikisimpsons in mind if we need another one, which we don't really at the moment as there is very rarely any trouble on Wikisimpsons. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 04:43, January 24, 2014 (EST)
I have the option of rename files. I'm a rollback user? --BTony70099 (talk) 13:51, January 24, 2014 (EST)
You currently have Trusted rights. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 13:56, January 24, 2014 (EST)
Ok, changing the subject, the reason why february will be a month without new Simpsons episodes, is due to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. --BTony70099 (talk) 14:01, January 24, 2014 (EST)
Until we get official confirmation, I'm waiting for February episode announcements. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:17, January 24, 2014 (EST)
