Bartman Unmasked! is a The Simpsons Summer Shindig comic story first printed in Simpsons Summer Shindig #8.
Synopsis[edit]
Bart Simpson's greatest secret is revealed as Bartman is unmasked in front of all of Springfield!
Bartman has been hypnotized and cannot stop the hypnotist while he is stealing money from the orphaned children, but when he escapes with the money he stumbles and Bartman snaps out of his trance. He saves the life of the hypnotist but becomes unmasked and it is revealed that Bartman is Bart Simpson. Bart sees a lot of advantages to being unmasked, but tires quickly of being everyone's superhero and starts hiding at home. The police arrest Bart due to an anti-vigilante law in Springfield. Bart is in jail and contacts Lisa via Facespace, saying that he needs her help. Lisa contacts Bartman's fans in Springfield and asks them to come to the police station dressed up as Bartman. Lisa explains to the police that Bart is only one of Bartman's fans, and he is set free. The hypnotist then hypnotizes them all to forget that Bart is Bartman. Bartman's fans are now confused about why they are dressed as Bartman, so Bart tells them it's Bartman Day and they start to party.
