Wade Boggs is a former baseball who was a long-time third baseman for the Boston Red Sox. In 1999, he ranked number 95 on the Sporting News list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players, and was a nominee for the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.

He appeared as himself on The Simpsons episode "Homer at the Bat".

Wade Boggs was voted joint 17th in IGN's "Top 25 Simpsons Guest Appearances" along with fellow Baseball players Roger Clemens, Ken Griffey Jr., Steve Sax, Ozzie Smith, José Canseco, Don Mattingly, Mike Scioscia and Terry Cashman.
