America was originally 13 separate colonies ruled by [[England]]. In 1776 America declared itself independent and won a war with England. After years of westward expansion America fought a war with Spain and became a world power. After [[World War II]] America became a global superpower. This became a problem because terrorists from within and outside the United States arose to challenge its newfound power.
