Star Trek XII: So Very Tired is a movie advertised on TV, billed as the "latest and greatest" adventure of Star Trek's original series cast. The commercial is seen by Bart, Lisa and Grampa.
The characters of Star Trek's original series feature, although they have all aged considerably and become weary with their adventures. Kirk complains about his hernia and that "nobody listens" to what he says and reacts with boredom when informed by a cane-using Sulu that there are Klingons on the starboard bow. Scotty is also so overweight he can no longer reach the Enterprise's control panel.
Behind the laughter
- The real Star Trek XII will be released in 2011, but will not feature the original cast.
- The film is a parody of the progression of the series of movies based on Star Trek's original series. The later movies, especially V and VI, are often lampooned due to the characters' obvious increasing age and the accelerating weight gain by the cast, especially Scotty and Uhura.
