Springfield Desert State Park (also known as Satan's Anville) is a desert in Springfield which people can go visit. Some students of Springfield Elementary School visited the park on a field trip once.[1]
Name origin[edit]
The origin of the alternative name "Satan's Anville" comes from the remains of rock in the desert. One rock remains a statue of Satan, which is probably where the name came from.
School visits[edit]
The school of Springfield Elementary visit the park every year, and Superintendent Chalmers states that every visit Skinner falls for the "rattlesnake trick", which is when a student shakes a baby rattle from behind a rock. However, Skinner states that he actually got biten by a rattlesnake one visit. Chalmers calls that day a "sick day".
Animals that live in the desert[edit]
Animals that live in the desert include:
- Rattlesnakes
- Butterflies
- Scorpions
- Road-runners
- Coyotes
