Kent Brockman

Kent Brockman is Springfield's ace journalist. He does the reports for the Springfield News Hour on Channel 6, which the Simpson family usually tunes in to every day for the latest. He is a devout report, for even after winning the state lottery jackpot of 140,000,000 dollars, instead of retiring, he stayed on the air for the heck of it.

However, Brockman is not very good at reporting, albeit his various awards and claims. He often makes sarcastic comments and makes jokes of the people he's reporting on just for better ratings. He also seems to have moderate power within the Channel 6 hiearchy. He is very critical of his subordinates, particularly Arnie Pie, whom he shares a sort of friendly rivalry with. He also seems to have a rivalry with his sister, who is a White House reporter for CNN.

It has been suggested Kent Brockman is very greedy, often betraying his so-called allies to join the winning team, such as in Deep Space Homer, when he thought ants would invade the Earth, he said, "One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves. ". Later, when the ants were revealed to be normal size, not gargantuan, he apologized and said he would always keep his allegiance to Earth in the future.

Brockman is critical of many other things, including democracy, media personell, and people in general. He also owns a dog, which has been nuetered, and a Mercedes-Benz S420, which he is seen washing in the opening credits. He is also known for hosting various talk shows.
