Geography Pageant
The Geography Pageant was an event held at Springfield Elementary School, where students represented USA states through creative costumes.
History
Springfield Elementary School held a geography pageant, and Lisa asked her mom, Marge, for help with her costume. Since Lisa didn't know which state to represent, Marge suggested, "In honor of legalized gambling, why not go as the state of Nevada?" However, Lisa replied, "No, because Nevada makes my butt look big." She eventually decided to go as Florida.
Lisa grew worried because her mom hadn’t even started on the costume, as she had been spending too much time at the casino. On the day of the pageant, her father, Homer, made her a costume out of a rubber suit shaped like the state of Florida.
At school, Principal Skinner handed out special awards at the geography pageant to the two students who obviously had no help from their parents: Lisa Simpson (Florida) and Ralph Wiggum (Idaho).
