The Itchy & Scratchy Show Episode Information
Pun: Dazed and Confused
Season: 4
First appearance: "The Front"

"Dazed and Contused" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show. The episode was written by Milt Fineburg and Hy Levine.

Plot

Itchy hits Scratchy - relatively gently - on the head with a mallet. Itchy laughs each time as Scratchy says "Ow!" After several hits, they both look into the camera and say "Kids! Say no to drugs!"

Reactions

The episode ended up being extremely unpopular. Bart and Lisa immediately loathed it, and even Krusty was ashamed at the poor writing of the episode.[1] It is also implied that the reason why the script was so bad was because the writers of the cartoon were Harvard graduates.

This extremely tepid episode of I&S is the one that prompted Bart and Lisa to write their own episodes.
