Cultural References
- Homer's attempt to get Marge to go braless ("Free the Springfield Two!") is a reference to the 60s protest slogan, "Free the Chicago Seven."
- Ned Flanders, during his juice hallucination, sees:
- Dancing bears and skeletons, symbols of the Grateful Dead.
- Walking hammers resembling those from Pink Floyd The Wall.
- The hammers have lips-and-tongue heads that strongly resemble the Rolling Stones logo.
- Star Trek - When Bart asks Dr. Hibbert why he doesn't just pull the daisy out of Homer's forehead, Hibbert protests, "I'm a doctor, not a gardener," echoing Dr. McCoy's famous catchphrase.
