• Sideshow Bob is voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who played Frasier Crane in TV sitcom Frasier. His brother, Cecil Terwilliger, is voiced by David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier's brother Niles in the show. This is also referenced in the episode's title.
• When Bart covers Cecil's eyes and asks "guess who?", Cecil guesses 'Maris'. Maris was Nile's wife in Frasier, and an unseen character.
• At one point in the episode (just before Bob and Cecil discuss wine at his apartment), one of the title cards from Frasier is shown.
• The title references two things. The first is a reference to Brother from Another Planet (a similar reference will be made later in Brother from the Same Planet), and the second is a reference to the fact that Sideshow Bob and Cecil Terwilliger were voiced by Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier Crane and Niles Crane, respectively, in the TV sitcom Frasier.
