Cultural references[edit]
- The name of the comic story is a reference to a police academy, or the movie franchise Police Academy.
- Chief Wiggum says "Gladiators ready?" when getting the musclemen to break into the Dunk Tank, a reference to the Gladiators franchise.
- When Homer is asked if he knows of Obadiah "Cheeks" Wilmington, Homer asks if he's the lead singer of Blues Traveler.
- Snake steals a ticket to The Police reunion concert. Homer says that it was part of a Sting operation, a reference to musician Sting. Stewart Copeland then asks when he goes on.
- Homer arrested Krusty for stealing Henny Youngman's act.
